Dear Friends of CCI around the world,
As 2018 draws to a close we can reflect on a year of significant change and also encouragement at CCI Worldwide. The year began with my predecessor Dan Bolin in post and over the next six months he carefully handed over the baton of leading and serving CCI. Dan has left behind a great legacy and it is a joy and privilege to build on the foundation that he left around the world. I am constantly reminded about the love and affection that he had and his passion for this great ministry.
Since then I have had the opportunity to speak at many conferences to leaders of Christian camping, to listen to the needs and wants of associations and camps and to visit dozens of centres around the world. I think back to one that in many ways captures the essence of what we are about. We took a 2-hour motorbike ride and a 40-minute walk into the jungle of Nagaland India. There, appearing out of nowhere, we came across this extraordinary camp - a large brick built dormitory block, a big vaulted meeting room and a well-equipped kitchen area. The Track camp was the vision of a local church who had bought the land and built this camp to reach out to the young people in North East India. They are now establishing a regional CCI team to build many more camps such as this.
That story could be told a hundred times, the opportunities are enormous and it is good to be able to enable, equip and encourage those reaching into young lives around the world. Recent research once again reminded me of the importance of what we do - 80% of adults say they were converted before the age of 20 and time spent at a Christian camp was one of the main reasons for this.
This year of transition has been testing financially - we are building a great work and would be very grateful if you could help and be part of that. We have a great vision to see a CCI member in every country of the world, can you help make that happen?
Yours gratefully in his service
